What to expect

On this tour you'll discover a place which is emblematic of the heart and soul of bullfighting, where the world’s finest matadors present their artistry and skill. You'll be guided through the key parts of the bullring, from the beautiful bullfighting museum to the chapel, the ring, the callejón, putting into context the three protagonists of this magnificent spectacle: the audience, the bullfighter and the bull.

The Plaza de Toros of Las Ventas is considered the most important bullring in the world, the Mecca of bullfighting and the arena where all matadors want to succeed. It also hosts the most demanding audience in the world and few bullfighters reach absolute triumph, the exit through the Puerta Grande of Madrid: less than 100 bullfighters since it opened in 1931. Las Ventas is a seasonal bullring, in which bullfights begin at the end of March and end in October, normally on Sundays.

The visit includes the use of an audio guide available in 8 languages: Spanish, French, English, Italian, Portuguese, German, Chinese and Russian.

• Holy Week schedules: from Saturday, April 13 to Saturday, April 20, open from 10.00am to 7.00pm, the last hour of entry for the tour will be at 6.15pm (on Sunday the tour closes 3 hours before the event)
• The Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas is open everyday from 10.00am to 5.30pm
• Closed: 25 December and 1 January, 2 May
• December 24: closing of the ticket office at 2.30pm
• December 31: normal time, closing at 5.30pm
